I remember green and white capped in grey
Invisible through rain that fell so hard it sang
The ending of oppressive heat
The rain with so much noise that it brought peace
The cold thundering beats against my skin
It gathers in my hair
I want this like the sailor wants the sea
It is the only thing that makes this small place home
I am a child who stands small and can only see the sheets of rain
I wonder what the drops would feel like
Running through my beard, catching in my hair
How the droplets find the breadth of shoulders and the straightness of my back
I wait for too long a Summer
I don't know how home's rain will find me
The drizzle cannot hold me
and I cannot wait for the heat to end
